New York Fashion Week is upon us once again, with all the posing, preening and paparazzi that comes with it. It’s all very fabulous, but please; malnourished adolescents are so last season. Skins (and rubber, and spikes, and jockstraps) are in, so purge the pretension, polish your play panties, and join Folsom Street East in Room 301 at the LGBT Community Center on Saturday, February 18th for our annual Fetish for Fashion runway show and silent auction, this year benefiting Housing Works.

Doors open at 7PM for socializing at the bar and soaking in the ferocious talents of DJ Dave Huge before our celebrated Master of Ceremonies Will Clark takes the stage at 8PM sharp to guide us through an evening of gorgeous models showing off the hottest in fetish and fetish-inspired fashions from some of NYC’s top purveyors, including The Eagle Store, FM Leather Design, Manskins, My Lady’s Toys, E7 Gear, Nick Stryker, and WonderWear NY.

This year, legendary NYC-based leather designer David Samuel Menkes (Remember Lady Gaga’s AK-47 rifle bra in the Alejandro video? Yeah, he did that.) will be on hand to oversee the very-much-NOT-silent auctioning off of one of his one-of-a-kind leather jocks. Count on the jock itself to be crazy-hot and the bidding for it to be cutthroat. Last year’s custom jock went for nearly $600, so bring your checkbook!

Proceeds from this year’s runway event and auctions will benefit Housing Works, one of NYC’s most recognized and well-regarded charitable organizations, working tirelessly on behalf of people living with and affected by HIV/AIDS. Housing Works’ mission of providing and advocating for quality housing and healthcare, as well as legal protections from stigma and discrimination is one that never, ever goes out of style, and FSE is proud and privileged to participate.

Of course, a runway without music is just a hallway without walls, so this year FSE is thrilled to welcome Aussie-born vocal phenom Kylie Edmond to the Fetish for Fashion stage to perform her unique brand of folk-infused pop-rock songs about her gay exes, lost iPhones, mean boys and pick-up lines.

Event tickets will be available $15 (or for $10 with a Housing Works receipt dated 2/9-2/18) at the Fetish for Fashion door on Saturday the 18th starting at 7PM. After party will be at The Eagle NYC. For more information, VIP or Press arrangements, or to donate auction items, email Devin MacLachlan at devin@folsomstreeteast.org. See you there!
